Reviews for "Down At Juice Bar"

Woo.

Well done, really nice work, but I like the army guys lol. But these are nice guys, but im confused.. are the 'Bad guys' the army guys, and these are a different series? I remember you saying something like 'Im going to stop numbering these things' but im confused. :-(

However, back to the movie, this is a real nice movie! I love the type of colours you come out with for the characters, i'm glad they are like not just default colours. Haha, and also are you starting to introduce the line tool? Great stuff. I'm glad your like going into new style.

I think you need to get back to the army guys, I think they are just.. amazing, and they are my favourite series from the portal that I have watched grow, the others are just there that I never saw. :-(

Anyway, the humour and the sound of the characters is still the same, which is real good. I love it! It's really funny.. but have you edited the voices or can you actually say it like that irl? Lol. Cool!

I have never really found any easter eggs in your movies, or little secrets.. i'm not that good at spotting them, however, I think you should include some, it makes it really cool; and if you do, note it in the author's comments so we know that we should look for them.

Really nice work here, I mean really nice, its not just another 'Hey yeah, its cool.. another one to the collection' but your standard is high and you just never sease to fail. Lol. :)

Thankyou Chris for making such a cool series. ^.^

ChrisNosal responds:

The "bad guys" are the grey ones that usually hang out in the background. The stars of this episode. It's the same series, I just decided numbers weren't needed since the episodes aren't really connected to each other. It's just kind of a fluid series, there's no set format.

Yeah I guess I did use more of the line tool. Some of the bar itself I had actually drawn for another animation that I gave up on, and it fit here. I'll use whatever tool works.

The only editing I do to the voices is to raise or lower the pitch. I do the accents myself.

I've never really done any easter eggs. I've thought about it. I'd like to do that in the future maybe.

Thanks a lot.

still good work

i think a lot of people are getting mixed up because they dont realize the bad guys are the simply-animated ones. i think a crazy surprise appearance by the other two guys would have been great for this episode, even though it is still very well done. the music didnt bother me really, it was just a touch too loud. still, i thought this was nearly as good as the others. keep up the great work!

ChrisNosal responds:

Yeah, I may work in surprise appearances for those guys in the future. I just think if those 2 guys stay the focus of the series, it'll head downhill. But they're not gone forever. They'll just be more minor characters.

Thanks.

Mixed feelings

First of all i want to say that i did like the movie. It was funny and well written, but on the other hand, i'm disappointed. I really miss the two guys who were mainly in the first three. Sure the badguys are ok, but i think the real focal point of this series were the two main characters. I'm sure a lot of people would agree with me. The last two movies youve made dont have that sort of cult status. With your first two movies, id be repeating lines from them for weeks and still laughing at it. Your latest movies are funny, but forgettable. I dont want to pressure you into making something bad, but if you are going to make movies with just the badguys spin it off into another series or something. Anyway, keep up the good work and i look forward to any furthur movies you make.

ChrisNosal responds:

Yeah, I'm sure those two guys will pop up again sooner or later. It's just, with them, it's pretty much the same thing every time. They talk loud and swear.

But I get what your saying about how the first 2 were more quotable. Like I said in the comments, this episode is sort of getting a feel for the characters. In future episodes, I'd like to get back to the randomness and quotability of the first couple eps, while also keeping the more developed characters from this one. Hopefully I can find a way to make that work. I'll do my best.

Thanks.

Good job

Its nice to see Bad Guys episodes because they can be simple yet hilarious. I like the non-existing people part the best. I can't wait until the next one and let's hope you get a collection page soon.

ChrisNosal responds:

Yeah, that'd be cool. Thanks.

Hehe

I really enjoyed this one, as I enjoy most of your other works. To answer something; your dialect applied to these bad guys are as often VERY similar englishfied northern germanic. Often swedish-english, more or less.

I'm Norwegian and swedish is pretty similar to my own motherlanguage, but I feel that the whole "Sven, Bjorn" thing is really adding to the fact that they sound swedish. Just so you know...

ChrisNosal responds:

Cool, thanks for clearing that up. I didn't know what exactly to call it.
