That's the Exact Reason I Don't Play FFXI Anymore
Wow, you hit it right on the nose, my friend. FFXI's player-economy is so screwed up... I quit that game once I realized that if I didn't get into a Linkshell, I'd be stuck trying to make money forever so that I could level up. The best way to level up and make money in that game is to be in a Linkshell, I tell ya.
An interesting paradox, really - most Linkshells only accept high-level players nowadays - at least on my old server, last I checked. However, in order to get to a high level, you have to get into parties so you can get EXP. However, parties don't accept you unless you've got good gear. Unfortunately, getting good gear means that you must have ENDLESS gil, which can only be obtained (without going insane or dieing of eye-cancer) by getting into a Linkshell. So Linkshells won't except you because you're low level, because you don't have gear, because you don't have money, because you're not in a Linkshell. 'Tis a vicious cycle.
Oh, Interactivity would have gotten a 3 - 1 point for the play button and 2 for the replay button, but since the replay button was just so funny (I played a Mithra) I had to give an extra point. *sniff* I miss my Mithra... I really enjoyed playing that character. ...No, not because of the chest - sheesh!
Anyway, very good and highly accurate video! That's the exact reason why I quit! Everything cost too much because of gil farmers, and I just didn't want to waste 40 hours trying to get enough gil to buy ONE item that I had to have in order to level up. That's just totally ridiculous in my book.
Make more!
