Reviews for "OOTHQ: The Windmill Hut"

Great, but...

It's a great piece of music.
I would even consider it to be better than the original due to the epicness it turns into.
The only problem is the distortion as you noticed yourself. If you listen to the song on good speakers the distortion destroys nearly everything.
It would be great to see a fixed version (with a higher bitrate maybe?).
If the distortion was fixed I would give you 10/10.

Hoeloe responds:

Unfortunately, the distortion can't be fixed without a significant reduction in volume. It may be the way my midi notation software handles the sound sample, but pianos and heavy percussion almost always come out distorted, and so far I haven't found a fix short of reducing the volume, and since my notation software does not give me the option of exporting at a different bitrate in mp3 format, that's out too.
However, I have it on reasonably decent speakers, and the distortion doesn't seem all that bad. It's there, but not really noticable. Perhaps it's something to do with your sound system that's emphasising it?

:D!

10/10! 5/5! You sir/ma'am have submitted a song worthy of the title "A True Zelda Remix" The Instruments are clear and powerful, the build up is amazing, the EQ is great, everything is distinguished well, it's original yet doesn't screw up what the N64 had. (The only flaw I see is a random vol spike in the beginning but, It might of been my imagination, it was during the middle-end of the rain sequence before the piano)

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhh...

Oh man, the way the song starts out calm and then suddenly goes on strong makes me think of a battle...or at least the march to one. A last stand off outside the windmill hut, a once peaceful place turned bloody by war, deciding the fate of the kingdom...and the way the song starts makes me think of a look back to how the windmill hut once stood, serene and peaceful, as the wind slowly turned its blades...then...a crack of lightning flashes back to present. The windmill hut stands in ruins as the armies march forward towards each other and do battle, the outcome of which will decide the fate of hyrule, and all that is left afterwards is a bloody battlefield of which only one army emerges...and the lonely windmill hut...overlooking the battlefield as it starts to rain...

J00 get 5/5 and 9/10...

p.s. That narration might have been totally out of context, but that's what I envisioned...

sounds like a lot of love...

...I definitly hear a lot of love, not just for LoZ OOT but also for music 10 5
