Well.
This is very good for a first flash. I like this story with the Shadow Stars and the humor, it's good. The graphics are not bad at all for a beginner like you, even, it's good. The choice of music you choose, the typhical Mario sounds, it's perfect for a Mario flash;). Hope too see Part 2.

That was reaally good. And you say its your first proper flash? Im impressed. Some good sprites in their and i cant wait for part 2.
And you put in good music for the credits all nintendo fan boys like me love thast music. Are we there yet? NO!!
