Reviews for "A few more weeks"

its crowded

do some EQ and sort out the noise.
but it sounds like a good tune underneath.

MaXounet responds:

Yup, that's my main issue in my songs, equalisation and mix balance. Thanks for the hint.

I liked it...

But the guitar that comes in just doesn't fit well. Seems really out of place and sounds way too much like FruityLoops to me. Maybe a different reverb effect, quieter, I dunno, anything would be an improvement. Otherwise, this was great and I understand the work that went into timing it perfectly, so 9 stars.

Wouldn't mind using this in one of my film projects.

MaXounet responds:

Thx for the review, i wanted to make something different than the original, maybe the guitar is kinda too loud in the overall mix yeah (lead guitar i mean).

Awesome, but...

The guitar at the end needs to appear at some point beforehand. It's too surprising to merge smoothly.

Otherwise, I loved it. Great cover.

Not sure about other people's thoughts, but the guitars felt just right for me. It was a very well done cover of a favorite song of mine. Maybe with some minor touch-ups, this could go big. Anyways, downloaded and will continue to listen, but it seems pretty solid overall. Keep the good work up.

Not bad.. But could've been so much better.

I liked the direction you were going with this cover (which is also one of my favorite songs from a movie) but your mix in this piece has some serious balance issues that ruin what I think would otherwise have been a probably enjoyable track.

Most of the solo guitar work is too upfront and dry sounding and doesn't sound like it's in the same room / meshing with the other instruments, this was the big detractor for me. As the song progressed towards the finale it did improve though.
I won't take points off for noise because we can't all have amazing recording equipment and the music matters more than the quality of delivery (usually).

At any rate, you nailed the progressive nature and the dark atmosphere of this song very well. This isn't your best work but it's not bad by any means. Certainly not as bad as the fellow below me makes it out to be.
