Makes me happy

===============
Score: 8 / 10
Summary: Makes me happy
Review: Well, this must be the happiest tune I've heard all day!

I really liked the simplicity of it. But that is also part of what pulls the score down. Drums for example are way too simple to be so prominent. They are overpowering the melody, and there are few different drums in it, few samples, so you should probably make sure that the two are better balanced.

I wouldn't like the instruments you've been using in a normal case, but they fit perfectly here. The melody is great, but possibly a little repetitive as the song goes on. Great loop, if you cut one or two seconds off the end ;)

Work a little on the rhythm, beats, and try to add some diversity.

I swear I heard some melodies from The Kooks in there. I've been listening too much to them lately.
Oh, and take this 5/5. Damn 0-bombers.

Sawdust responds:

Thanks! I really wanted some emotion going on, and all.

Also lol, I don't listen to the Kooks

It sucks. Automatic Zero.

Just joking. aha

Actually it's pretty interesting. A little bland though. Add some kick to it.

Sawdust responds:

Alright then, I guess I'll add one of my generic guitar solos to it and everyone will like it.

Chilled

Quite a nice piece that embodies the idea of relaxing after a hard day - I can certainly see this piece as a menu tune, or even as the sort of tune that people would listen to is certain places like surf shops. I can see the relaxed atmosphere that this conveys, being coupled with the scenery of the sandy beach background, just to get people ready for a nice experience on the water, when we all know it's harder than it looks.

I'd certainly recommend that you put a break in the beat and counter melody, just giving the synth a quick solo, just to put that to the forefront of the piece for a short while.

Sawdust responds:

Yeah, it's probably the percussive like quality of the main instrument that gives it that relaxing surf shop feel. Thanks!

Nice and relaxing

For what it is, it's really good. The melody is good and constantly changing so I never get bored, but it still sounds like the same song throughout.

For some reason, I was trying to think of what it'd be used in, and what came into my mind was the credits of some cricket show, where it has loads of replays..It has that sort of relaxed feel to it..

Sawdust responds:

Well, repetitivity is a beast I've never managed to slay. Thanks then!

ok.

Ah, I see where the name comes into play here. It starts off giving off one type of feeling and then a little bit more than a minute into the song it changes, etc... Then maybe even a little back and forth of feelings after that too.

Can't really think where something like this could be used in a flash even though I tend to try and think of something. I can say I do like the relaxing beat going into the more quicker beat throughout the song back and forth.

Thanks for the review, I greatly appreciate it.
