Not bad for a first
It's not bad as your first movie, but mario movies are a bit too over-used. You should hae used a different "style" ;)

its actually really good for a first but heres some freindly advice
1first off ur sound is great no suggestion there, same with the pre-loader
2.the sprites motion is a little sketch try using mor motion tweens or use a higher fps
3. and learn how to increse the quality of your jbegs, it does wonders

was all that clicking to forward the dialogue so necessary? otherwise it's not a bad film.
