Reviews for "Lion King - F-777 ReMiX"

Meh... imo it's cluttered.

IMO, and get that it may just be my personal opinion. I think it sounds cluttered, and the relationship between the bass and the kick is just awfull, i mean this is JUST like hearing a song from you 6 months ago. It seems as if you have just seized to evolve as a musician but maybe more as an FL user, an electronic musician would be the best term. Because its the same synth from which sound i dont even have to ask what VSTi it is from, and its the SAME god damn problem ive been telling you that you have since like last autumn.

Kick/Bass - The kick is way too much punch and high end, there are so many high frequencies that, honestly it sounds like 4 pitched kicks with a sub boost or something. A tip is to make sure a kick punches, that it does NOT have too much high frequencies (high end of the para EQ, tweak it down, pl0x), and that it has a fair amount of bass compared to the bass. When you make music in 140BPM+ you have to make sure that the relationship between the bassdrum and the offbeat bass is PERFECT, and, im afraid that in this song/remix or whatever, it gets completely fucking assraped by the volume of the synth and the compression you have done on the kick.

Nice little "bragfest" in the authors comment btw, i also love that you are actually selling your own music, way to go! I had my music up on a personal aounslous page for like 3 weeks before i realised how unbelievably douchy it seemed.

6/10
3/5

6 out of 10 is the score. 4/10 for having the basics in, and 6/10 because if i gave it a 4/10 this review would get banned by whoever it is keeps mass voting and mass whoring your songs (YOU!)

Thank you for your time.

ummm...

I am in no way, a DJ, or FL Studio, Reason, Rebirth, whatever program DJ. In fact those are the only music programs I know of, so please, bear with me. I am a musician, so I will try to explain my thoughts in musical terms, so excuse me, as I may not know any "terms", or lingo from music programs.

I barely ever go to the Audio Portal on Newgrounds, but it appears that your a "big shot", according to the comments. I don't know who you are, but it seems like your just another FL Studio Pro that will spend hours upon hours on a project, remixing stuff, "Alright I'm going to make a generic intro, of what the main melody will be, have it down tempo, and fade in. Yeah sounds really creative to me!"

I'm sorry but it just seems like a generic techno song you will find in any music sight or forum. My analysis: The intro, you have a soft, low tempo version of the melody. Nothing surprising here, you speed the tempo up a little bit, but just by a few seconds, add in some staccato (don't know what to call them, again, don't know the terms) notes of the melody, coupled with ambient sound. Now in the mid section, your really speeding up, nothing wrong with that, but it's basically the same thing as the end of the intro, just you added a sound effect, made a couple sixteenth rests in between some notes, and made most notes eight or sixteenth notes when they should have been quarter. This is okay for a remix, as that is what MOST remixes are like. But MOST remixes, doesn't make good remixes, you have to be more original.

Now the main thing I want to touch on is the off beat/bass/background music. You have bass on every note, which is way too loud, and it really unbalances the music. The off-beat, is way to subtle, and you can only hear it as filler/background music, but you can not actually listen to the sound unless you have extremely good headphones like me, or are listening very hard. IMO, instead of that subtle off-beat high-hat, you could have a snare, only to contrast with the bass, but not too loud. Last off the background music. When you are in the middle of the song, going crazy on the melody, having huge bass, your totally destroying the layering of the song by adding ambient music in the background, once that is there you make everything so cluttered, it's not music, it's sound. I personally think it's a way to kind of cover up everything, to kind of hide the fact it's the same thing over and over again and to fill in the gaps between everything, basically covering up the fact that the melody sucks.

Slow intro, fast mid section, intro all over again, fast paced melody, melody fades out. This is what all lame DJ-ers do. I'm sick of it.

A remix, IS NOT A REMIX IF ALL YOU DO IS TAKE THE MELODY AND ADD A SOUND EFFECT, BASS, AND BACKGROUND MUSIC. You have no flare to it. No originality.

F-777 responds:

what about the sounds i created? i didn't add A sound effect i added a ton
and i made the bass and created the background music isnt easy. What
about my two melodies i created myself and included in here? Your too
busy saying im unoriginal you didn't notice them.

"A remix, IS NOT A REMIX IF ALL YOU DO IS TAKE THE MELODY AND ADD A SOUND EFFECT, BASS, AND BACKGROUND MUSIC. You have no flare to it. No originality."

You can take that and shove it up your ass until you have created a song where
you create 90% of the sounds of it and do a remix completely by ear.

"just you added a sound effect, made a couple sixteenth rests in between some notes, and made most notes eight or sixteenth notes when they should have been quarter."

You have no idea what your talking about thats absolutely hilarious =).

0 originality, very generic.
Not much of a remix besides importing midi and having trance sounds instead.

F-777 responds:

Never did midi its completely from ear =).
