Reviews for "Anxiety Cure - Club (A->N)"

BOOM :D

That's the best word for this: BOOM. Just BOOM. XD

Seriously though, this is great. And despite Player-03's opinion, I don't the start is slow at ALL. I've heard enough power techno mixes to know that when you hear something low and heavy like that, it's building. Building. BUILDING.

BOOM!!!

It's the high, thin, phased (they were phased, right?) vocals that do it for me, when offset by the big, crackling sawtooth bass. Pure genius. Excellent.

Speaking of vocals, I also have enormous respect for the lyrics in this. They're the kind of lyrics I always wanted to write, but could never get my head around; they make sense, but in a ARTISTIC sense, rather than a logical one. Which is why they work so much better; being non-literal, they spark the imagination, which in turn causes mental & emotional involvement with the song.

So BOOM. BOOM guys, just BOOM. X)

Thanks for the review! We spent a lot of time on the percussion so it's good to hear some comments on that. The vocals had a bit of chorus on them (I believe). To be honest we ended up having somewhere about 80 different tracks on this song so everything is a bit jumbled in my mind.

Thank you for the comments on the lyrics. We try to write lyrics that are relatable but not necessarily cliche and stale. We've put a lot of effort into each of our song's lyrics and we're really proud of them.

BOOM indeed. Let us know if you know any DJs that'd be interested in spinning our stuff!

Thanks again.

The start is too slow.

You don't even hear the main melody until 1:26, and I wouldn't be surprised if a number of people rated it down and left before getting to the good part.

The song itself is really good. I liked (and downloaded) the original ReonakRhythm version, and I like the A->N version even better. I've been waiting for a while now for you to release it (or a variant like this) on Newgrounds.

ApproachingNirvana responds:

Thanks for the review! The start is slow because it's a club mix. So when it would be played in clubs, you wouldn't hear the first 30 secs to a minute because the DJs are busy beatmatching and mixing in the song. So, while we understand that the start is a bit boring, we meant to do it that way.

The full song (original edit without drawn out intro) is available to listen to on our myspace and on lastfm. It's also available for download on major digital distribution sites (itunes/amazon/napster/rhapsode/emusi c). Also, the HQ version of this will eventually be made available on a club EP. So definitely check that out!

Thanks again for the review!

Check out the Spectrum visualization on NGs player

It gives proof that it is pure techno. The top quarter of the spectrum, the entire high treble, is either fading from a single bar, or completely invisible, throughout the entire song.

Amazing song. It has variety through the entire thing, even though it's an 8 minute techno mix. That's something that's hard to find anywhere.

5'd, 10'd, dl'ed. All in one go.

ApproachingNirvana responds:

Thanks so much for the comments, they're more than appreciated. Hopefully you'll check out some of our other stuff in the future!

Everthing is awesome!

This would be fucking AMAZING if this played in a club. It only makes sense; why haven't the DJ's that spin at clubs crawled up your shirt for a copy of this song on a Vinyl?

ApproachingNirvana responds:

Thanks for the kind comments! We are considering releasing our club EP both on vinyl (maybe per song if there's demand) and digital distribution/CD. At that point, we'll be reaching out to DJs across the country to see if they'd be interested in a copy. Hopefully it will go well, but it's not til the Fall that we'll have time to put everything together.

Glad you liked this, thanks again!

Woo.

Quite right, PDAF. Bass mindfuckfest. XD I am now a fan of A->N. :3
