Reviews for "Squint"

I like it man

Its pretty different and I like it. I like the beggining guitar sound with added effects, it has a nice overall touch. Nice work man!

Zerok responds:

Thank you, good sir.

OGM ANRGEE FAIC >:(

Tis ghey.
Even Stampers songs extremely queer songs are better than this.
But I suppose not everyone can enjoy real music that wasn't made with a computer.
Loops make me want to cut myself.

Zerok responds:

Heehee, you punk.
You gave it a 2 before. ^_^

Interesting...

Your sense of rythym really comes through in this peice, the drums sound great, unfortunately that's about the only positive thing I can say. I would suggest if you seriously wish to pursue music or at least just fooling around with fruity loops or whatever program, you should learn piano. It will help you to understand melody/harmony relationship, instead of just plunking in whatever notes don't sound horrible. Improvement is much needed but certainly not impossible; you're already halfway there. Hope this isn't discouraging, I look forward to seeing new music from you soon

Zerok responds:

No, not discouraging at all. Like I said in the other response: The constructive criticism is appreciated.

I don't know if I'll go as far as actually learning how to play the piano well, but I've been thinking of investigating sheet music and whatnot. I've always been a procussionist, so melody is definitely something I need work on.

Thanks. =)

Has its moments...

...it sounds very fruity loops, progressions and beats wise. There's some real great bits of melody and structure, but apart from that, it's all a litle messy and sounds very basic. I imagine u are trying to experiment with the software u have, and fair play to u, but it doesn't do anything for me. Sounds like someone trying too hard. The bass is all over the shop and it's very apparent that u have just programmed in random notes. A little more thought and structure would make this trk better.
I like the synth sound and riff that comes in around 45 secs, it all goes a little squarepusher for about 20 secs, but then goes back to the fruity loops sound that i dont like. In my opinion u have potential, but need to get a better grasp of structure and what sounds good, co after all, thats what music is all about.

Zerok responds:

Wicked review. The constructive criticism is appreciated.

This is all just experimentation, you're right. I do have an older program, and I'm uncovering new stuff every time I use it. Oddly enough, there were no randomizers used at all, unless by 'random' you meant just putting shit in and adjusting it so it sounded 'good enough'. That's pretty much all I did with the melodies.

I play drums, so making a beat isn't hard at all. It's just like sheet music on FruityLoops.

I intend to improve; I love making music. Your feedback helps a lot! Thank you.

I know the feeling.

A straight foward and well crafted breakbeat, it isn't original, but the diversity makes up for it.
