A story that can go far
One real good reason to love stories like these. To wonder if this little match girl would meet her guardian before death or to dream of a happy life. People who watched this will not forget the the true author and the flash version of an author for this story. Always a tear jerker and the mysteries with the ending and beginning. Best background of complexity I have ever seen on newgrounds. This story will always be remembered.

This is a work that needs some re-working.
Aw, this could have been great. Sorry, but the animation did not show that much emotion and it was no variation on the main character movement at all. I don't think the size of a girls eyes makes it more cute/sad, maybe if she actually used her face than just showing the still picture...that would be another thing. I know shouldn't be complaining, it was good, just try to improve the visual and some off the fading on the musical part.

I have to agree with the last review. This is a good, wholesome flash and I hate to see how everyone else uses violence, sex, and what-not to boost their ratings. You used none of that and you get a perfect score from me. The only reason i gave violence, interactivity, and humor a score of 0 is because they don't apply to this movie. Please make more good things like this!

Sir... I can honestly say, as God as my witness, this is one of the greatest films ever to grace NewGrounds. Ever. It's further proof that artists such as you needn't rely on swearing, violence, or sex to boost their movies' appeal. You, my good man, have retold one of my and many others' favourite stories in Flash-form. You captured it brilliantly. The music was VERY appropriate. The Little Match Girl looked so helpless and unfortunate the ENTIRE movie. It's such a refreshing change to see a submission that reflects another culture's story. Please, PLEASE don't stop here. Make more movies telling timeless stories. Stories like this are just.... classic. They're timeless. It's hard for them NOT to be. You've even boosted this story's appeal by making others aware of it. Perhaps you've even turned a few people to this genre of foreign authors and their masterpieces. By being from Lithuania, I suppose someone such as you is more "inclined" to do something like this. Though, I've seen an occasional American artist do something like this. God Bless you, sir.
