Reviews for "Cobra151 - The Journey Home"

EPIC Journey!!!

This is a very powerful piece of music you have composed here man.
It almost has an ambient feel to it, possibly could have gone in that genre. The synth pads/strings that you used in the background were very powerful.

I love the beginning right away. What sound did you use to make the intro??? is it an arpeggio? haha if so where can i get it? because it lays out the whole song for us.

Then the listener can really go on an Epic Journey at 0:58! it's a cool quiet section.

My favorite part of the song is the tune transition that begins at 2:06, that is very creative man.

Then the song fades slowly becomes more simple as the journey is coming to a close.

Only thing I might have added to this song is some piano, but that's just me haha.

well keep up the great work man.
5/5, 10/10, Fav'd (and i'm going to have to download this.

Cobra151 responds:

Glad you liked it so much buddy!

The arpegiation at the beginning and through out the song is from a Free Soft Synth called Rez. Though the soft synth has many very obnoxious glitches, it produces neat sounds. ironically, when the Soft Synth is working properly the sound I am using here (color meS) is an apregiator. But in this case, the Soft Synth Glitched to where it just created a smooth single tone. I wrote all the Arpeggioes myself (Which made changing keys an extremely slow process) and frankly, I am pretty sure that those arpeggios are not reproducable by a preset arpegiator.

Again, glad you liked it so much - Cobra151

P.S. - Could you please tell your freinds about it and get this song somemore attenion? it got absolutely zero New Submission's List attention. Thanks! :)

Good use of arpeggiator

In addition to the strong chord structure, I liked how the arpeggiated synth gave a sense of a clear melody throughout the whole piece, rather than just having a chord progression going out there (a fault of which I am sometimes guilty).

Your use of effects allowed your rather sparse arrangement to fill out the entire mix, rather than jamming every VST you could find in there and muddying everything up.

Overall, great job.

Cobra151 responds:

Hey, sorry it took me so long to get back to you on this.

Yes, one of my primary prerequisites is that the melody is obvious and clear. If you cant tell what the melody is, how can it get stuck in your head? :P But since the melody is one of the top factors in making a good peice, I always try to make it the most prominenet factor in the peice (though I have been guilty of failure numerous times :)

Heh, yes I have been trying to use effect more and more, and boy do they really give life to a peice. You'd be surprised how many VSTs I have running though...

Anyways, thanks for the review, always love to hear what you have to say! - Cobra151

Nice pads =)

This arpegios reminds me of a song made by The Killers. but its nice tho =)
i like those pads man, its fills the sound specter nice ;)
and the bass was recombined with the bads, so i can hear that the pads and the structure was nice set. u made a song with the arpegios from the start to finish.
The sound wasn't so sticky or chessy and sounds great. the drums was little like Drum and Bass genre, but it merged so fine to the song, that was just great.
10/10

thanks for the feedback, glad you liked it!

Words cannot express the awesome.

I am in awe. This song is absolutely amazingly beautiful. I have heard many wonderful songs, but somehow this just takes things to a whole new level. I know I probably sound extremely cheesy, but I am not joking. Truly spectacular.

I like it.

I don't feel like explaining stuff. I'll just say it's good.

Cobra151 responds:

well thanks. I guess :P
