Reviews for "_-={Midnight Oil}=-_"

Alright.

I can understand the mellow feel, but the melody reverberates a bit heavily to me and gives takes away from the. And I thought of the M*A*S*H theme song at 0.37 haha. I would have (when I say I would have I mean if I had your ability) slowed it a bit more in certain stages, and given the drums the chance to fade out alone, to give a sense of a patient's heart beating out. As a matter of fact your Surgeon songs are ambiguous in the sense we never know if the patient makes it. I would say (you prolly are already) make one where he loses his patient, that could go on for so long too, an epic!

MaestroRage responds:

right you are Assassin. The songs are ambiguous indeed. A drenched dark tones with a lot of malice but no definite answer. Though I would have loved to make a death song for each level, that would have doubled the song size, and the game was already breaching upon gigantic. We have to draw the line somewhere eh? I mean I also wanted to make each song like 30 minutes long :D!

I kept the percussion constant to allow smooth looping.

Thank you for the review, i'm glad you liked it!

hm.....

I like it, but its just not that fulfilling. I feel like there could be more to it, but if you feel its just right, then its just right. An artist knows when his work is done. on the other hand, it would be a great song for "burning the midnight oil". it feels like a song for a stressful, slow operation, that seems/feels hopeless, yet can still be done. for some reason, I'm Picturing someone important, not sure who. anyway, overall, its decent. definately not your best work,
(I think that title belongs to deads witness [but thats just me])
P.S. sorry for the errors, my keyboard is broken, and I am ... about.... to.....zzzzz...

-Snyper

MaestroRage responds:

I hear you Snyper. This song could go very far, much further, no doubt. But right you are on the dot, this song was very largely to set the ambiance of the operation and game, rather then stand on it's own legs, which is something you might have noticed my songs tend to do, even when designed for a project.

But a very interesting suggestion... Dead's Witness being called Midnight Oil? Mayhap... thanks for giving me that little something to mull over. And again for the review, glad you liked it!

Mellow.

I love mellow. Great work once again, keep it up.

MaestroRage responds:

Thanks! And again for the review, i'm glad you liked it!

Calm

First off I want to apologize for a potentially bad review, since I'm sitting up late, burning the midnight oil :P
But this is a loop that really forces my fingers to write down a couple of words. But what can I say?
The beauty of simplicity can really be enchanting. I feel like as I finish writing this, I'll head off to bed, carrying this tune in my mind. I know it will inspire peaceful and relaxing dreams.
If it will have the same effect on me when I'll play Dark Cut 3, it will greatly add to the difficulty of the game :)
Keep up the good work.

MaestroRage responds:

thanks BloodyN00b! I hope that the melody can soothe you into the night rather then rob you of it XD. Sometimes I get a melody stuck in my head and just can't fall asleep for hours because of it.

I think you will enjoy Dark Cut 3, I certainly hope you do :D! Thank you for the review, i'm glad you liked it!

cool but...

the adrenaline isn't always set to overdrive?

MaestroRage responds:

no indeed. Sometimes one winds down and deals with the darkness on peaceful terms.

Thanks for the review, i'm glad you liked it!
