Reviews for "FFVI:The Day After Part14"

Wow, seriously!

I sat and watched the whole series! this isn't a spoof...This is art! this felt like an actual sequile to FF6! You must be a hard-core fan because, the characters personalitys were flawless!! The animation progresivly got better and better. The music was from a game i had played no-matter what!! I would have liked more time to read tho. You are awsome and hardcore!! can't wait for the End finale!!

Vinstigator responds:

Thank you, I really appeciate the positive feedback! And don't worry, part 15 will be well worth the wait, I promise :)

highly improved

the backgrounds have alot better quality than before and has been improving with each episode. keep up the good work and if your finishing the 15th episode and its taking this long it should be a very good one that everyone thats seen these is waiting for.

Vinstigator responds:

Oh yes, it will be way better than part 14. I've vastly improved my sprite skills. And now that they've expanded the file size limit to 10 MB, the sky is the limit :D

Well, it's ok, but it could use some touch-ups.

First: dialogue in the middle of the fight is just plain annoying. Lost of dialogue is even worse. If you show a fight scene, it'd be appreciated if the characters didn't keep spouting out cliche dialogue every time they make an action.

Second: Your sprite manipulation is great. Much better than your beginning work. However, Final Fantasy had something these didn't: numbers. You could tell whether an action was a scratch on the cheek or a sh**load of damage. Your fights just leave people guessing. If you're gonna imitate Final Fantasy in a flash, it'd be nice if we could get some reading on how much damage a person has just taken.

Third: Your dialogue is ok. Not terrific, not bad, but ok.

Fourth: WTF was the point of the general? For one of Kefka's "best officials", he put up about as much fight as a stuffed dummy. Seriously, the squid put up more of a fight than he did- and that's sad in any context. He was nothing but a useless ploy to spout more dialogue. Next time, could one of Kefka's best actually put up a fight, instead of dying at the drop of a hat?

Again, it's nice to see your work improving, and I think that your work is commendable for getting where it is, but it still has lots of room to grow. Little less conversation, little more action, please... and I bet you don't know what song that's from. :p

Vinstigator responds:

I'm tired of all the "action-orientated" sprite flashes on here with no story. So that's why I have decided to take a different approach and as you can see, it worked. In fact some NG veterans (who have been here for many many years) have said this is still their favorite series on Newgrounds. To me, that is an honor because they've seen A LOT of animations on this site. And for mine to stand out... that's just something special.

It was great

but its been 2 years man, don't leave us hanging, make the last episode, come on, we all want to see it please!

It was so good, especially the last one, I watched and saved them all, was interesting to see your development as an artist, especially number 14 where you now have the full animation of the characters attacks.

So please, finish it.

Vinstigator responds:

It's reviews like this that make me want to finish it. I'm just waiting on a worthy co-author to animate the final battle scene. After that, it will be ready to submit to the portal!

brilliant!

YOU BROUGHT ULTRANOS BACK THANK YOU!!!!!!!! he is my favroite boss in ff6. i liked where he landed on the campfire that was pretty funny. i also liked that u had moves from the game. The only thing is i felt it was a bit slow in some points and u didn't need 4 scene selection bits. approaching kefka's tower just wasn't long enough. 3 would have been better. apart from that great movie and can't wait for part 15!

Vinstigator responds:

Thanks for the review Ian (yes I know this guy. I met him while playing Animal Crossing DS)!
