Reviews for "Sticks in Reality 4"

your next step:

replacing the sticks with cartoony figures... try to put a little more effort in the drawing part...
and get some actinglessons :)
2/5

Asvegren responds:

Wtf? Acting lessons? Why? You know it's hella-hard to imagine a stick being in front of you, right?

It is original.

I am giving it high scores for originality, make it faster with more sounds.

Pretty Amusing...

I have several comments, most of them regarding filesize:

I watched all of this series and these can take a little while to load, even for my DSL. I would look into compressing them a little more (Check out 3vix.com for a good vid codec) or taking shortcuts where ever you can. You may already be doing this, but I'd suggest using still images when you're not moving and video when you are, you know, conserve that filespace.

Since you've got to keep the video clips short, and this is definitely a stick death movie, you might as well kick the action into high gear as soon as the movie begins. More action within a small amount of time.

I'm not a big fan of stick death movies just b/c usually it means I'm about to see some lazy work from some 12 year old who doesn't know shit about Flash. However, I really like what you've done incorporating the live action into the whole thing. You don't see a whole lot of that here on NG. There's so much opportunity for creativity here...it's pretty cool. Keep up the good work and I'm looking forward to the next episode!

hmm

good, but i think the credits were longer then the actual movie, thats not too great

Room for improvement.

Alot of people have been upping your score simply because of the concept of sticks and video footage and not paying much attention to the content. The first 2 movies of this series were shameful and had little if not no animation in them whatsoever. You upped your work in episode three but that was not without its flawes. This episeode was alright, a bit short but atleast you did some animation. Frame-by-frame is the way to animate if you are mixing real-life with animation, trust me i've done alot of it (I just havent finished any, its an attention span thing).
Try watching some xaio xaio and joe zombie and other classic stick films before you animate your next to try and pic up on some things.
All this aside, with each episode you get better and in one or two episode's time you should be making daily feature, just dont let that filesize get too big.
Also, wearing shoes might be a good idea.

Asvegren responds:

Thanks for the constructive review, you don't get a lot of those these days. I will try to improve the animations in future installments. When it comes to the filesize, since this episode was relatively short I let the quality remain high. And in Sweden we don't wear shoes indoors.
