Reviews for "Serenade of Storms"

whoever said that the song of storms can't be classic needs to listen to this. i enjoyed how you blended the serenade of water into the song as well

BlazingDragon responds:

I unfortunately cannot remember who said that. Thanks for the review though!

This song reminds me why I love thunderstorms. At first, it's peaceful, almost loving in its embrace, offering a warm hand in the face of darkness, then the true storm comes, increasing in its ferocity, but not enough to have you worry, like it's reminding you that, though painful times will come, it's for much more than the pain it will inflict, then the worst of it happens, the winds increase far more than you thought possible, the sound pierces you in a way you never saw coming, and the storm becomes almost too much to handle, and then, near silence. The storm has settled, but not stopped. This is its final embrace, telling you all is well, that even in chaos, peace will always come back, and that dark times are only to better you and the world around you, if only you'll love it back. I might be going a bit too much in detail with it, but sometimes I get that way when a song, or a storm, makes me feel like it's all worth it in the end, so thank you for the time you put into this, and may the winds of the storms guide you.

BlazingDragon responds:

Thanks Slips! You left me some reviews all the way back in 2008 and they were wonderfully articulate. What brought you to this piece after all this time?

I also love thunderstorms. There is something emotionally purifying about the falling of rain that makes me slow down and reflect on life, and I also enjoy the cyclical nature that you brought up. I find myself using it in music quite often in that I'll begin a piece with a theme, journey through entirely different musical settings, and return in a very similar way to how I began.

Your comment on storms also makes me think of the cycle of day and night. No mater how dark night becomes, there is always hope for me knowing that the morning will eventually bring light and clarity. It's analogous to trials for me. No matter how bleak life may seem, I have hope knowing that things will inevitably get better as the cycle of mountain tops and valleys progresses.

I literally cried the first time I heard it. It's amazing.

BlazingDragon responds:

:) :) :)

Thank you!

Very nice arrangement. It's just a well crafted piece. I kind of wish you have a live performance - it's a little mechanical. It's not too bad, though - it still comes across quite well.

Awesome work.

BlazingDragon responds:

I know what you mean about the live performance. It sounds very quantized. My piano skills are improving though and I'll likely be playing more of my pieces in time. Thanks for the review!

I just wanted to thank you for this beautiful work. I've been coming back to it on and off for a couple of years now, and each time has been a wonderful and helpful experience. I understand your thoughts on how music is an intimate thing. It truly is. Music can touch our hearts like no words, pictures or physical things can... I felt compelled to leave you a comment this time around... I think I just really want to say thanks. This wonderful piece of music has helped sooth my soul through troubled times... So thank you... Thank you...

BlazingDragon responds:

Thank you for taking the time to leave a beautiful and articulate comment. Reviews such as yours inspire me to compose when I begin to question the value of writing music. They show me that lives are being touched, and that provides me with ambition to keep going. Thank you again.
