Reviews for "Defender"

Full of awesomeness

I can't wait to see the finished game

pretty nice

the artwork itself is excellent and the it definitely creates a bleaker post-apocalyptic tone. The only two gripes I have are the ray gun like appendages the center robot seems to be sporting at the top and the small red spikes in the front of the armor plate. They both look a little tacked on imo, and clash with the overall aesthetic. Again though, excellent work, I look forward to the finished game.

Nice

Highly detailed and positively beautiful, in a sadistic sort of way. The same goes for all the other concept are for this game "Humans are Dead".

I'm quite interested in it now, would you mind giving me a bit more detail on what the game is?

Xaltotun responds:

It is a relatively simple board game in a post-apocalyptic world without humans, where robot factions struggle, trying to avoid the mistakes of their creators. There is quite a bit of back-story that is not obviously stated in the game. But I kinda like that, it gives a feel that the game world is richer than it seems.
The game is hosted here on NG too, if you haven´t seen it already.

Nice! Just one little caveat...

I like the design, the sort of bulky, tank-like creature attached to two smaller, quicker ones. The artwork itself is pretty much flawless. The one thing I would change is the design of the frontal plate, perhaps having the back taper upwards to a point. As it is now, it looks a little awkward, while, if sleeker it may look more threatening.

bugsex?

man this may sound so juvenile, but I cant help but see that first large bug is taking

it up the rear by the one in the back with the lazors.

the lighting and rendering of the shadows is top notch

Xaltotun responds:

Haha. I don´t mean to worry you but you´re the first person that ever said that. And just to clear my mind: there are just three robots in the picture. :P
