Reviews for "RPG Tutorial"

Busted!

I saw you asking CodeRipper to find a tutorial that resembled yours. Since you can only review once, I'll be happy to fill in the slot.

Look familiar?

A lot of the movement scripts are nearly identical to yours. Also check the other pages of this thread for some oddly familiar scripts.

Ciao'

Everblayde responds:

First of all, I've never gone to that topic.
Second, movement scripts will look similar... they are after all doing the exact same thing... moving.
Third, I went to Actionscript Codes Here! in the Flash Topic to learn basic actionscript so you could probably find a code resembling mine easier there.
And Finally, no I cannot write actionscript in expert mode, I need to copy some other actionscript and edit it in order to understand it. I'm still basically a beginner.

Ciao'

Thank you

I've been wanting to make an RPG for a long time and this has helped a lot! Only thing i need to learn how to do now it make the items usable.

sweet

theres just one problem <(-_-"<) when i right click ground and go 2 panels, theres no instance option... think u could help meh here

Everblayde responds:

If your using a MX Flash the instance is probably under properties.

Not bad

my advise is not to call your favorable reviewers newbs. it's kind of an insult. not everyone has made an rpg, but they still may consider themselves good with flash.

Everblayde responds:

K, newbs aren't neccesarily bad at flash. I don't think it is an insult, it just means your a beginner thats all.

flawed

Tutorials on how to use actionscript are pointless if they don't explain (or the user can't figure out) what actionscript MEANS.

Everblayde responds:

Did I ever say this was a tutorial on how to use actionscript... umm no. It teaches how to use "instance" a bit and that you need two movieclips in order to interact with each other among other things.
