Reviews for "No Love For Spartacus"

*Butt Head laugh* You said...Pianist.

There's this interesting quality to this song. It reminds me of this video I watched on Youtube that had a similar sound scheme this song had. I can't quite come in with an empty heart to listen to this but it's mad interesting. There's a huge amount of DISCORD in the song. As I remember what you said in your author comment maybe that's what you were going for in the first place?

Anyway, nice job. Sounds great. Poor Sparticus he will have my blessings!

LLAAPPSSEE responds:

Hey, thanks for listening and dropping a review.
The reason for the discord was because i probably would've made two different mixes to this. I just wanted to two one, and i had these two pieces i could let go. So, in true IDM fashion, i smashed them together. hah. I thought it'd had an interesting quality to it - The in's and out's of love.
I know alot of hip-hop guys have remixed this song, or just other jazz players in a more up beat fashion. I wanted to..do both? Upbeat, and the original sad quality the original song actually had. I may just make two loops for this song. I've been thinking about that too. But, ah, alright, enough typing from me, this is getting long.

Thank you for the score! Poor Spartacus would be happy to hear that im sure. Ah-heh-hah.

not really jazz

to quote sorohan.ro.ambiental.yes.but nothing to do with jazz.so what?to quote another.anyway verry interesting choice of sounds.and of course the song.

LLAAPPSSEE responds:

Thanks for listening! : D
I wouldn't say it has 'nothing to do with jazz'
considering Evans is a jazz pianist. Your just thinking of jazz in its static form, in its classical form. It has its jazz elements. Its sound. It fits into other categories yes. Newgrounds needs an IDM genre. : (

listen to triosk.

not really

not really jazz, more like D'n'B, but definatley a good one
i like the "athmospheric" piano of Bill Evans, i like the almost waltz rhythm in some places (around 1:40)
so, comclusion is :
A lot of love for Spartacus :p

LLAAPPSSEE responds:

Ambient jazz! Hah. I dont see this as D'n'B at all though..where's the 'reese'? ha.
Yeah, i enjoy waltz's actually. I like the rhythm they have.
Waltz for Debby is a very beautiful Evans song. I've been thinking about a remix of that as well.

Heh heh. Yes, a lot of love. : D
Thank you for the review. I'm gonna check out some of your tunes!

once again...

i love your poems, and are you signed or anything? your stuff just sounds so professionally done, i know you must take a lot of time and effort in to making these great songs. just plain beautiful poems and music.

LLAAPPSSEE responds:

Thanks again Jacob!
No, unfortunately, i am not signed. I've been working on getting there though. Signed or not I'm still trying to make a name for myself. Heh, oh man, you dont know the half of it. I work hours, days, weeks on some of these tunes. My most recent song was about a month of off and on work. So to have people really appreciate it means a lot. Thank you sincerely for taking the time to listen to what i put up; reading what i write out.

No Review For Spartacus

After listening to 'the View of Crowds' and 'Sunlight Through Dusty Air', I decided I'd take it upon myself to view the rest of your submissions to the Audio Portal.

I love what you've done to this piece. You've placed it into a very spaced-out, ambient arrangement with more than enough time to breathe throughout.

The heavy reverb is beautiful, shall we say, and gives a very smooth and almost (as has been said with some of your pieces before, I believe) daydream-like feel to it.

Top marks for this. Well arranged, excellent sounding.

LLAAPPSSEE responds:

Hey Kane, Thanks a lot for the review (And for the others ) I'm glad you enjoy this piece. I've heard some people dislike the heavy reverb - but i cant change it, i just cant. I like it the way it is too much. So I'm glad to hear you like it too! I hope 'ol Evans would enjoy it - as well as any of his fans / the jazz community.
