Reviews for "Yun+WS - Call of the Siren"

On every degree.

Every time I listen to your abstract hip hop pieces, I am very inspired to write.

This type of hip hop is the type that almost tells a story in your mind while you listen. The name somehow has alot of meaning in my eyes because whenever I hear it, I get the same feeling as I get whenever I hear sirens. Almost like someone is dying, or passing? Maybe a problem of some sort.

This music, is not the bling hip hop. I would put it in a new style of Hip Hop. You have your own musical style. A very unique one too. And the times I hear your music, I normally get devoured by its taste, and listen to it, until I understand it, and I almost know the song. This shall be another to go on my Zune.

Pro's:
This song is very in-depth.
A vibe is given off in this that is dark, and struggling.
The song is overall a great song to listen to during a rainy day, problem, etc.

Con's:
(I mentioned the strings being lo-fi. Which you fixed :D)
The song needs a little variation, just so it doesnt seem so... Repetitive.

But most importantly, this belongs on a CD. Something people will buy.
Something that can be distributed to the masses, instead of to people like me, who dont deserve this free. Your talent as a musician exceeds those who sell their music now.

Keep it up Yun. Your music is great.
Always.

I'm backin' up Phade on this one

Ya need this on something to spite the industry and it's departure from true hip-hop with this bubblegum and hip-pop fad we been in since '00 or so. Ya'll two got a crazy way of bringin' old skool and new together to make true knife-edge hip-hop, your own style(s) but harking back to those Pete Rock days, the instrumental hip-hop of the past with the intelligent cats bustin' freestyles about chucks on the telephone wire and poppin' hydrants in the summer, yaknow? But this is what I'd expect from both of you, great drums, great instrumentation, perfect mastering, a superb piece.

Peace

YunVeroz responds:

I popped a hydrant once. Then the cops came :(

Pretty nice track here man

I'm feeling this track, unlike most of the hiphop on this site. Pretty nice piano melody, sounds eerie but cool at the same time. Really emotional, this track tells a story in its own right, and I'm feeling it in bits and pieces.

Pretty nice sounds, the drums are nice and cool, sound bitcrushed, but not much. Not liking the kick, through. I feel like it could use a bit more higher end. Snare is real nice IMO.

Kick ass track man, your hiphop is awesome. Keep it up!

YunVeroz responds:

Thanks for the constructive review, man :)
