WELL KEWL

I HAVE RETURNT TO RETURNT A REVIEW I GUESS

For being a post-apocalyptic tune, I felt most of the instrument lack a lot of reverb- just to make it more dark and otherworldly etc... IT IS AFTER AN APOCALYPSE AFTER ALL >:(

The piano has a perfect sound- maybe a bit light, maybe mudding it up on purpose could actually be an idea to create the right atmosphere. It sounds perfectly dreamy with that chord progression and delay though... that chord progression is very masterfully done.

Strings sound VERY soundfonty... don't you have any better samples? I mean, they're good, but they sound like... thin :( Maybe some chorus/multilayering etc could do the trick to make it sound fuller and more realistic? Mebby?

Sax is pretty good for being a soundfont. It's still noticable, mostly in how it keeps the same tone all the time. Ever considered asking that radioactiverhino do some sax for you? I bet it would make the tune rock your socks off ;) Of course you don't have to do it if you don't want to be bare-feet for the rest of your life.

I likey. You did capture a feeling 'ere, but it's still got some places to polish.

Thanks for the return review. ;D

Yeah, I guess I was fairly reserved on using effects, but I think some otherworldly atmosphere might set the story a bit better. Yeah, strings are soundfonts, how did you know? I like the tone they give out, but maybe a bit of reverb, or something will thicken it out. If I feel this is worth a second crack I probably will ask RR about it, in fact I've discussed a little jazz collab with him prior to your comments, but still, live sax = awesome.
Thanks, you do good job review. I luv you long time. =D

Beautiful

This song really deserves a 9. I want to give it a 10, but I think if you improved the saxophone part a little it would be totally perfect and would deserve another star.

WritersBlock responds:

Thanks.

Nice use of Sax

This is a well performed piece, with a good piano track, well complimented by the use of the Saxophone.

I think it ends rather abruptly and to be honest, you could use some percussion to round the whole piece off nicely.

The length was good and all together it sounded good, but not brilliant.

WritersBlock responds:

Thanks for the review. I wasn't sure how to put percussion in this, so I usually leave that sort of thing alone. Cheers, the comments have been noted.

Great

Loved the piano, how did you make them? The violins sounded too synthy, may i reccomend using DSK strings, it's free and great. Loved the sax and loved the dreamy feel it gave. Maybe adding some orchestral percussion that would make it feel bigger you know. The ending could have been better but the song was great still.
Great Job.

WritersBlock responds:

Thanks. The piano was a sample with added reverb and delay, I think that the violins would have sounded better with reverb, I used to use DSK strings all the time, but my computer hates it, and it sounds out of tune, most of the time, I'll probably just play with the soundfont to get a richer sound. Maybe I could have made a second half to the song, which has more of an epic apocalypse feel, but I just stuck with what I was comfortable with, so maybe later, I'll feel adventurous enough to blend jazz with a grander epic orchestra.
Thanks for the review.

Awesome.

I really hate having to review tracks when I have very little to say other than "it's very good".

The piano is wonderful as usual. The only thing that bugs me is the sax soundfont you used, you could have used a much better one.

The best part of the song is the intro to me. I gotta admit the song didn't turn out to be what I expected based on the intro, but it's still a very nice track. Keep it up, 5'D.

WritersBlock responds:

Thanks! I haven't looked at all the soundfonts I've got yet, so I don't know how much better I could go with the sax. I'll probably try and get a live sax next time. Yeah, I guess a lot of people thought that the music would be more epic, and I came out with a bit of a minimalist selection.
Cheers for the 5, and the review.
Appreciated.
