Reviews for "I Like to Hit Things"

LOL

I love it as a composition.

Yeah, more variations, some more mastering and it should turn out kewl.

Can't wait till the finished song ^__^

WritersBlock responds:

thanks man. I'm also keen to see where this goes. =P

Alright

There's something about this I'm not too keen on but I can't quite put my fingure on what it is, maybe I'm just not keen on the style. Anyway, it doesn't sound too bad, I mean the piano is very well played in this and really comes together very well, also it has a nice back beat to it which is very good.

The tempo through the whole things changes pretty well too, which is good, there's nothing here that can really be improved on in my opinion. The ending is well done too, so good work overall.

4/5

Very nice.

Y'know, this -screams- clown music. It's got that...comical feeling to it IMO. Despite the lack of effects, it's still a good track because it doesn't really need any. You managed to pull off a tempo change very nicely too. I don't really mind the repetitiveness because I hear enough variation for such a short track. I'm more into emotional classical songs and I have to admit that I never really liked comical-sounding piano songs, but from an unbiased point of view, it's a great track. Nice job.

Thanks! I appreciate the nice review.

Not too bad.

It was a good sounding piece of music, I actually enjoyed it, but it just got too repetitive at times. It has a good unique sound to it compared to a lot of the other music I've heard on the Audio Portal as of recently. I liked when it slowed down a lot, that was damn good. Nice work with this piece, and I'm looking forward to more from you!

WritersBlock responds:

Thanks, I should hopefully have this finished pretty soon, so I'll work on making it less repetitive.
Cheers for the review!

Good show chap

this works quite well as a standalone piece. it could be used in some lighthearted and funny play or flash of sorts, like a mime riding a unicyle or something. But it's definetly a joyful composition throughout despite you saying it lacks variation. real nice catchy rhythm scheme, joyful higher pitched melodies with the graceful lower tones, overall an excellent composition. some nice tasteful dissonance in here too, which helps the mood. tempo slowdown was well executed, and the arpeggiated chord you ended on was beautiful.

one thing this could use is some velocity and dynamics variation. as long as its not percussion its not a big deal with me, but it'll make your sound more authentic. reverb is not really needed here, although if you slap some on you could create a more "live" feel. i would usually say add strings or another instrument to accompany the solo piece in this track, but this is already very entertaining by itself that the piano accomplishes the job alone.

Thanks for the comments. I'll probably put some more attention to the dynamics and expression. Cheers for the review. Very helpful.
