Reviews for "2'29''"

Ok I know this is a joke but...

I know this is a joke, but i'm getting a little tired of it to be honest. This has been done so many times it is ridiculous. Anyway, I was under the impression that Cages 4'33 was meant to be a live performance, so that the music was in the sound of the audience (coughing etc).

I'm sorry if it is me not being able to take a joke, and it probably is, but this one is on deaths door. What ever will someone do next, play it in reverse, 'arrange' it? No matter how many time this 'music' tries to be spun, it is still the same old cliche s***.

Haggard responds:

Well, this was only partial meant to be a joke. Mostly I wanted to see how people would react to this submission.

Yes, Cage's performance was a live performance. But it works here as well, I think. Anything you can hear outside (or inside) can be the music you are listening to (cars passing by, someone walking around, kids playing outside, etc.). But we aren't aware of those noises because we are busy doing other things (like listening to music ^^).

Anyway, thanks for the review!

i disagree with the people below me

i honestly think the speed brought out the emotion within the piece. really, i am left speechless. this is a masterpiece!

Haggard responds:

Thanks, but I don't deserve this... credit belongs to John Cage, as he's the original author of this masterpiece!

Hmm

i tried refreshing this page multiple times, and then the visualizer comes up but the track doesn't play- which is quite odd. So I downloaded it, but still just complete silence. So you may want to reupload this track.

....

(I hope I made you laugh a little :) )

Haggard responds:

Yes, a little :P

Well...

I'm going to have to agree with Mighty-Buffoon...
This was definitely played too quickly.
And you can fit a surprising amount into 8mb, depending on how low you set the quality. :p

Haggard responds:

I have to say I like the quick version a bit better.

I think even with a quality of 16 kb/s I can hardly fit one single note of ASLSP into 8 MB -.- .

Hmm...

Yepp, definitely played just a little too fast. Maybe next time you can play John Cage's ASLSP? That would be interesting.

Haggard responds:

I don't think that I can squeez that piece into 8MB, which is the filesize limit for MP3's here on NG ;) .
Anyway, thanks for the review and the nice score you gave me! :)
