Reviews for "Tetris remix v3"

Whoa!

This is very, VERY good.
Nice remake of Tetris!
(My high score on this was 96,583. I ended at Level 10.)

Fadeliss responds:

nice ok glad you liked it

Nice remake.

I am exceptionally good at the real Tetris (2.5 million points, 1,200 lines in the DX version (GBC)), and for some reason, unlike most NG users, I never get sick of Tetris remakes on the portal. This one is paticularly well done.

Graphics: Unlike most users, I actually liked the graphics for the falling bricks. The overall grid design was well done, as well. Ok, some improvements you need are: you need to make the counter numbers bigger; I could hardly read them. Plus, the rotation animations seem just a bit off center, but that's a very minor thing. 8/10.

Sound: I loved the Ozma piece. It was PERFECT for a game called "Tetris Remix". The other 2 songs were well-composed (nice job to ParagonX9 and RageVI)... but I don't think they went well with a Tetris type game... I personally think you should stick with Type-A Tetris music remixes. 7/10.

Interactivity: Well... it's Tetris... it interacts JUST like Tetris. For improvements on the overall interactivity of the game, so to the Miscellaneous section for my suggestions. 8/10.

Style: I liked the way the music goes with the game. The Tetris theme was well done - although one thing I didn't like was the "You Suck" message you get if you beat all the levels. Other than that, well done, stylisticly. I actually like the arcade style of Tetris better than the endless version (This remake is the arcade style) - the arcade style requires thought. 8/10.

Violence: Unless we see an M-Rated Tetris game EVER, or unless someone creates a movie where someone gets crushed by Tetris blocks, I doubt Tetris will ever be violent. 0/10.

Humor: OMG TETRIS HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA 0/10.

Overall: A well-made Tetris remake ... it isn't for beginers though - the block speed starts out rather fast, and this game requires a lot of hours of Tetris logged to beat all the levels. A nice job making this game - and for some odd reason, I'm looking forward to version 4. 8/10.

Miscellaneous: Ok, I beat level 10, 105,000+ points. Some revisions I think would make V4 better:

- First off, dropping blocks is too heavily weighted for your score. Considering you get about as many points for a Tetris as you do for dropping a block in level 10, I think the score per line needs to increase as the levels increase, and the algorhythm for the drop scores should be adjusted to make block drops worth fewer points.
- Next, make a counter-closewise rotate button. On the higher levels, one rotate button is hard to use. I recommend Up for clockwise, and Space for counter-clockwise.
- More levels. Version 2 and Version 3 had about the same levels - make more after level 10. I can come up with designs if you need them.
- Again, increase the size of the font for the block counters. They are hard to read.
-Lower the speed for the initial levels... or make a level select (Although I read you were doing the latter). It's a bit fast for the lower experience players (perfect for me). Of course, if you have a level select, don't let the user play EVERY level - make him/her earn the right to play the higher levels.

Final Verdict: One of he better Tetris ports out there. I recomend this game unless you hate Tetris (or Tetris remakes). Nice scripting, good music selection ... an overall enjoyable experience. Well done.

Fadeliss responds:

Thanks for reviewing not many people actually take the time to review like you did. and your review actually helped me thanks!

music brings back memorys..

Loved the music but eum...
I've seen this before? Probably played v2 or something then...
anyways, the blocks look really crappy. Don't use radial, use drawn shadows... looks 5 x better...
And make the lay out a little bit better...
But overall, I enjoyed playing it...
4/5

Fadeliss responds:

ok i will watch out for v4/tetris remix 3d

Good

Possibly add nice backgrounds (changeable?) and when the shape turns add nice animation? I don't know whether thats possible, or easy.

Fadeliss responds:

its possible but thats another 4 hours of scripting da 3d version has more effort into it

the game is old but still fun to play

the music whas better then the original
but maybe this is a very great use as a preload

Fadeliss responds:

yea basicly its a preloader game itsself but i decieded to use this as my preloader in my 3d version
