Reviews for "++ Underwater Observatory ++"

people are idiots!!!

I don't see how anyone could give this song less than a 4. I personally think it deserves a 5, but that's just me. Apparantly half the people that browse the music around here are tone deaf....

Anyways....enuff ranting....

i believe this song pretty much achieved what you had in mind for it. it's definitaly got the underwater level feel to it. when i hear it, i think Donkey Country's underwater level, the submarine underwater theme from final fantasy 7 and ecco the dolphin. I'm not saying it sounds like any of those, i just feel the song would be perfect for any of those situations and more.

i really like how u worked the bass in the song. i myself would have had a very hard time making a bassline for a song like this.

the part you added around 3 30 is also extremely well done, boasting some of your old school style in there. especially with the pitch bends. haven't heard anything like that since i think... war's little secret?

well, keep up the good work and ignore the shit heads that give this song bad ratings. those tools don't know what they're talking about.

REMY PWNS JOO!!!

kelwynshade responds:

Haha. Nice review old friend.

I couldn't think of a bass line for it at all. then, while walking in the kitchen and listening to my progress I just began humming and then realized I was humming the perfect bass line.

Seriously, if you don't like the song at all, at least say so, explain why, then vote your 3 and under. Some form of reason would definatly be helpful.

Also, just admit that you suck at Street Fighter III: Third Strike. Hell, just admit that you suck at games in general.

Who plays as REMY anyway?!?!?!?

Very calming

Yes, I'll admit, I was already calm when I listened to this, but it jsut seemed... a nice piece of music. I really liked this. Now, I don't know music at all, but like I say, this is just about perfect for some situatons. If anybody says they don't like it, then it's just not their style and the shouldn't be bloody listening to this kind of music. But it is jsut really awesome!

kelwynshade responds:

Haha, I'm happy you like it.

It would be nice if people who voted 0-3 would give reviews. Apparently that's asking waaaay too much =)

Thanks again.

1st!

trance isnt exactly my style, but I very much do like this one!

The two melodies that you open with are such a damn nice feel, so relaxing. The synths and pad that you use are a perfect choice, as they sparkle and slowly swell to correctly compliment an ocean theme.

the percussion is very nice, and once again very suitably chosen. I like those ambient and light snare that are panned on the left and ride. The harp sounds so graceful when it comes in, and plays a long, striking arpeggio. The interlude without the pads and the bassline going by itself is a good relief, and then you bring all back into perspective when you finish this track.

You always do a good job with creating you're lead melodies. The one you use here is so nice and soft, not too loud, or too overcomposed were you cant enjoy- just perfect, and I like how it bends at the end of the phrases.

still some minor "flaws" if I can say that, in this track, but nothing really major. It also seems complete for the most part, well balanced ideas and again sequenced together with finesse. With the pads in the background, the harp kinda just sifts into the atmosphere, to make a more apparent sound, I would raise the volume just a tad during that section. and maybe to mix up the drum sequences somemore, put some light, wooden ethnic percussion that pans from the left to the right during some point in the track.

Brilliant composition, some truly kickass parts!

kelwynshade responds:

Well, I guess I couldn't ask for a better 1st review if I tried.

I messed with the volume a ton because some sounds wanted to overpower the others like crazy and eventually I got everything to work out just fine.

I think my biggest problem is that when I get to working on the drums, I almost....lose interest if that makes sense. Basic beats here and there I can do, but the crazy complicated stuff that requires some good time usually causes me to quickly find something that sounds "good" then leave it at that. I do need to work on changing that.

Thanks again for the raving review. I enjoy reading all of them.
