I have to disagree with Malithion. This is exacly how it feels to enter a Makorreactor.
My fav track on VotL and probably the best FFVII remix of all time :)

Interesting...but I'm not a huge fan of it.
Hey, I downloaded this in the VotL torrent! Anyway, it's not too bad. Opening kind of reminds me of Half-Life 1's music (swirling ambient noise). Still, though, most of it doesn't really sound like the original (there's a hint at about 1:35 and again at 4:16). Well, of course, it's a remix, but when I heard this on NG, the only reason I knew it was from FF7 because the comments say so. It seems like two-thirds of the song is hardly similar to the original except by virtue of using similar instruments/technology.
Strengths:
- Its not bad. There's enough ambience in the background to compliment the main instruments.
Weaknesses:
- Very different from the original. Also, it doesn't evoke the same image/atmostphere that Uematsu's original did. It's a little too upbeat at points when compared to the dark, industrial, foreboding ambience Uematsu made.
- Could use some variety of sound/sound richness.
- 'Feel' of the song jumps all over the place.
Not really sure what you were going for, so it's hard for me to criticize it on whether it achieved what was intended or not. Still, its not too bad.

Really liked all the little nuances, musical themes, the composition, and the overall arrangement. You put a lot of work into this musical piece and it shows.
In short, very polished and has sounds / timbre that I enjoy!

I usually don't like re-mixes, but this one was great! Make more music like this and submit it to the industrial section!
