The Prelude
i dont know if the author meant it this way, but it can be viewed as the prelude to his other movie "Zero Wing" which just fricken rocks, btw. so, i give it an 8.

Interesting style.
As the author noted in his comments, the voice could've been better. I think that music would've ruined the realism of the "message from space" motif, but others might disagree with me.
Nice graphical style as far as the 3-D effects go, kind of reminiscent of Titan A.E. A little more attention to detail on the facial expressions would help.

shows potential
Animation was rather choppy (I liked the way you explained it as a "crappy recorder"... cute), music would have added a lot to it (I think you can download music editing software from the net, some of it freeware, some shareware, or you might be able to get a friend with a higher end machine to help you with the file conversion, but I thought flash could recognize mp3s), and it seemed a little short... oh well, what you do have it is pretty cool, I'd like to see more to this story.

the reason why it's so choppy was for space. My 40 second incomplete tech demo for OS3 (which I never put up) was 8MB (whoosh, I thought!). I wanted to make sure it fit under 8MB, and when I was finished, I didn't know how big it was going to be, otherwise I would've put in a frame of animation instead of putting in a frame every other frame :)

this was interesting.
yeah, very interesting. i don't know what a newgrounds chat had to do with the movie, but it was funny none-the-less. this was definately too short, even for a trailer. otherwise, it was good with the graphics and animation. you also have a nice speaking voice, which helped.
