Indeed robot, this is fear..
This piece so amazing! It could be seen as a fear for just about anything, like of the robot with it's somewhat grotesque appearance, or simply of the unknown.
However I interpreted it as a fear of fear... there is a no robot sign in the background and perhaps the robot is fearful of a feeling he can not comprehend, therefore then making it a feeling he CAN comprehend and so on and so forth.
The anxiety (of which I know a lot about. Trust me...) you can see on the robot's face adds another level of emotion to this already emotional piece. The deep sadness is really something to dwell and think about...
As I said: Amazing! Continue making pieces like this and soon people will start to notice (although from your front-page, I see people have already started to notice). 10/10
