the final stage where you escape from the rising lava is too much for my computer, its barely playeable, everything else is fine
Well here it is at last, the full game. The project's finished so I thought I might as well upload it here.
I think I bit off way more than I could chew for this project, however it could have been worse without feedback on the demo so thank you Newgrounds!
This is probably the stupidest thing I've made so far, please enjoy its goofiness.
Here's the link to MacOS and Windows downloads in Itch.io:

IMPORTANT: I highly recommend downloading the MacOS or Windows versions if you are serious about completing this, as any updates to the WebGL version will erase your progress ;)

Enjoyed this game to pieces! Started off slow for me personally, but once I got the hang of the controls, this was a blast that cured me of my daily boredom. I'm guessing this took some inspiration from Celeste and Super Mario Bros 3 (and maybe Pizza Tower?), but I won't stake any claims on that lol. If so, it definitely shows! This game also has my type of humor, so I might be a bit bias. The music , while middle-of-the-road and perhaps repetitive sometimes (probably because I'm a composer nut and I caught on quickly that a lot of the songs use C minor), it really captured the vibe and nostalgia of old flash games/SNES titles! I especially loved the boss /final escape track, I'm honestly considering making a remix of it in my spare time. I was surprised that this game dabbled in a little spook, as it wasn't the direction I thought the game would take. (Speaking of which, as a side note, I noticed at some point in the 2nd boss' chase sequence, you could just jump over him and forgo the chase onward. Also, not sure if this was intentional or not, but the final boss is pretty cheeseable if you get him near a wall. You can jump on him a couple times, and even more in the 2nd phase. Other than that, no minor/major sequence breaks that I saw.) I think the 1st world was a bit stale for my tastes, but I'm glad that the next 2 offered new mechanics and challenge to spice things up. Overall, I'm happy giving this a 5 star rating and hope to see more from you!

Cool game like Mario 3
Subpar game. If i could rate it lower I would, it tried so hard being a Celeste knock-off but it ended up being worse shovelware. It didnt have the fluid fun level movement of the third mario game nor did it have smart level design like celeste did, at the end of the day, it's just another mediocre game developed by someone on newgrounds.
Since I am so generous, instead of playing this game, I would recommend other games that you should play instead of wasting your time on this one.

Here, just play literally anything on this list, and you will get better mileage for your time, rather than having it wasted on this poorly designed game.
The game didnt know how to properly design levels, it felt slow and always trying to stop you on your tracks, instead of having fast and fluid platformer movement like all of the mario games are known for. The soundtrack, especially for the last bossfight is better of replaced with a royalty free music. The game mechanics are boring, and i'm surprised that you've managed to make the first two bosses more mechanically enjoyable than your final boss which just has boring simple subpar and mediocre attack patterns. If generic had a pictured example on the dictionary, it would probably showcase the final boss of this game.
If you're gonna keep making games this mediocre, you're better off just giving up on making any games buster. Otherwise, better luck next time. I rate it a 0.5/10
