Hark, for it is the new order! Spring Semester at our school nears the end of it's lifespan, and I work arduously into the night.

This is an ALPHA version of my final computer project for my Video Class. It is originally going to be in Flash, but I will export it into Adobe Premiere as a Quicktime movie...cause hey Premiere is like 10x better than Flash. The only reason I'm USING Flash is for a stepping stone in order to place all of my animation frames in place.

Yes, I drew all frames.

I'd say this is about 1/3 of the way finished. It WILL be the schizzy, you just wait.

And of course, there is no Preloader.

Well, what do you dudes think so far, too jumpy?

(4/15/03 Update: I should have been more considerate to those with dail-up connection, he he. Don't worry, give me some time and I'll annex the NG Preloader and a play/replay button.

Damn! That's a big window!

Well, the window was way too big, as u may have noticed in the title... The huge window led to blurry outlines, blurry otulines led to nigh on impossible to make out plot and that led to ur six.

From what i understood throughout, u have good concept for a story and if u coudl develop it it'd be great. What u definetely need to do is reduce the window size as that was what reduced most of ur pts.

Graphics were a bit too plain too . A background could help in this part byt adding depth to the animation.

However, this is an idea that could easily be developed and i believe that it'd go far if it was. Keep it up man!

Quite big...

The window is very big so it's very hard to get a good look at the submission. Also the drawings are all very blurry because of the big window size which doesn't look very good at all.

From what I could make out you seem to have a very nice plot, now all you need to do is to make the window a lot smaller so that the pictures don't look so blurry and everything can be seen just fine without backing away from the screen.

Also, some more colours would be very nice, because it adds a lot more quality to the submission.

Jumps about a bit

It's a shame, because the animation of the piece looks pretty good for a stop-motion piece, where the characters have very little personality, save for the main protagonist. Given that you've worked a good plot, I'd suggest that you work more on making it all the same size - jumping from one small frame to one that takes up the whole of the window is not a mistake I'd expect of someone as capable of animating as you are.

Perhaps this needs to be drawn in photoshop, or even flash, with a tablet, so that you can justify the comic book look - if you're going to do that, perhaps have them laid out like a comic book and then move from frame to frame, keeping the place looking like it's as if the viewer is reading the comic book, so to speak.

I think that you've got a good base for a successful series here and I'd like to see you take it further - judging by the fact that this piece is over 6 years old, the chances of seeing it taken further might have bneen dealt a blow, but never say die.

~ Animation ~

I'm hoping that the animation isn't complete. It is a test so I'm guessing that I'm hoping the right thing. Looks too much like a slideshow the way it is, but it felt like to me that it was more of an incomplete sketch so you had something to base the real animation off of.

~ Graphics ~

I didn't like the way that the screen would get big and then it would get small. Again, this might be because this is more of an alpha/testing then it was a finished product, but the big screen was pretty big and the small screen was pretty small. If you were going to change sizes like that I think I would find more of a happy medium than what you had.

Drawings were done awfully good though even for a test/alpha. Looks like you are putting a lot of work into the graphics part and this will turn out great if you keep putting that much effort into it.

~ Story/Content ~

It looks like it will actually have an alright story/plot to it. What you had so far made it look pretty interesting. I'd be interested to see what happens next in this submission. (Along with the finished product in terms of animation/graphics)

Lol, you haven't added that preloader yet. It wasn't a problem for me, but I do know some people have dial up (like I do at my certain address) and something like this would take a very long time to load. Also, the submission just seemed to move along a little bit too slow. Perhaps it will be better when this is complete, but a faster pace would be nice.

~ Audio ~

Really the downfall of the submission. Even though it's a test I wouldn't have minded hearing some background noise. Even if you didn't want to put voices in yet you could put in some background music or vice versa.

~ Overall ~

As a test it looks like your going in the right direction. It's hard to give a proper score because it is a test though so they are generally low. Don't worry about the score though as it's not really the quantity of the rating, but the quality of what's in the review. :P
