Hi, thanks for your questions. We will of course try to make these more obvious in the final release.
In the tutorial text, you can press space while the text is typing to skip the typing animation, and then press space again to go to the next text like usual. In the final game I'll add an extra button prompt for this.
The gravity is intended to be this heavy to make the jump feel snappy. There's a wide range of vertical movement (recoveries, dashes, double jumps) so a big floaty jump wasn't intended.
As for dashing, in this version of the game (assuming you're using mouse and keyboard), the player will dash towards your mouse. In the final version we have changed this to dash in the direction you're holding on the WASD keys.
