Author Comments

A Rhythm game with a different take, rather than getting as less misses as possible, try to survive a barrage of shapes falling down.

Its a little project I made that could be a full potential game in the future

Controls:

Z or left: Triangle

X or up: Circle

C or down: Square

V or right: Star

Uh, where's the rhythm? The notes aren't on beat, also the hitsounds are delayed. Would like to see bindable controls but that definitely has less priority than adding rhythm to the rhythm game.

Are the note on the off beat, or do they not specifically match with the tempo of the song? If they don't match with the song, I would suggest having the notes make different sounds. The claps make it seem like they are supposed to match with the rhythm of the song. Kind of throws the player off.

ScrewdriverGames responds:

Yeah I tried to make a small endless rhythm game for fun but since there is one music, the shapes would fall in the same pattern that is why I made it that it didn't match the beat. I made this game as a prototype to a future project one day, hopefully this time the beat matches the notes. Thank you for playing the game and thank you for your comment!

pretty fun rhythm game! :D

ScrewdriverGames responds:

Thank you so much for playing the game!

Not much of a rhythm game since the shapes seem to appear at random intervals. If you can make it generate the shapes in sync to the tune, this might become a nice little arcade game. For example, the "slow" powerup, instead of making shapes fall slower, could make them fall less often, but always in sync.

ScrewdriverGames responds:

I didn’t want to make it like a traditional rhyme game, I wanted to make it something like survive as long as possible
But your idea does sound actually good tho its gonna be hard to implement since the player will easily know the pattern of the shapes because of how much the song repeats.
Tho thanks for playing and giving me advice on how to improve the game, its much appreciated!
