****NOTE****

This is my first game upload. If you do not hear the music at the start of the game, it will play once you replay the game from the game over screen. If you manage to click the screen during the game's load time, you will hear the music from the beginning. I have tried multiple fixes for this in gamemaker but nothing works yet. You can also play it on itch.io: The Long Hall

How long can you survive "The Long Hall"?

A crazed vampire seeks your doom, and you're armed only with a stake?

How long can you survive?

HOW TO PLAY

Controls

  • Click Left Mouse Button when the Vampire appears to stab it with the stake

This is my first ever attempt at a game!

All artwork was created by me, and sfx/music is license free/public domain.

Super excited about it, even if it is very simple.

I made this as my submission for the Spooktacular

Yeah, I certainly couldn't get into this. I mean, it was just me stabbing a vampire. There weren't even any marks on the vampire herself! It was just walking into a dark corridor constantly. It was always the same vampire. I guess the artwork wasn't too bad.

I'm glad there was some music. You just need it to be more detailed. Show different vampires. Show the stake going in. Well, it is your first game.

the vampire is don't appear for long time and i really screamed in the first time, then she vas appeared

Not bad for a reaction time based game! I can tell you put a lot of effort into the art!

Maybe for a next update to it, you could do what's called telegraphing, by showing a brief animation before the vampire attacks to warn the player that she's coming. Then after that, you could possibly add more game mechanics for the player to have to balance in order to survive. I think the game "Murder" would be a great inspiration for this, as it's also based around an (almost) endless hallway and having good reaction time.

DirtGoblin responds:

Thanks -- -for my first attempt at coding, I am happy with this. I definitely come from a more art mindset. I will check out the game you mentioned.
