I'm happy with how this turned out! It was a lot of work to make all the different creatures and background elements for the video, and I think it's my best work yet. My favorite part is where Claymation Wink is shot out of a garbage can and falls into a Gameboy, turning into Pixel Wink.

Wink & the Broken Robot is a new open world adventure platformer for Gameboy, Gameboy Color, Desktop, and Phones currently under development. Story: Wink stumbles upon a broken robot in an abandoned house and agrees to help the robot find its pieces, all stolen by various creatures. You’re the robot’s only hope as you use Wink’s laser powers and various transformations and powerups to fly, shoot, and bounce your way to victory

This journey will take Wink to far reaches of his world, The Outskirts. From swamps, to underground caverns, to the ruins of a dead mall in the distant mountains. It’s up to you and Wink’s laser powers to fight giant bosses that fill the Gameboy’s screen and weird creatures such as sentient bowling balls, mole-potato hybrids, ghostly fish, and varies species of ants perfectly adapted to their environments.

With this experience, Wink’s music has been carefully crafted for the Gameboy’s hardware, with catchy melodies emotionally setting the stage for each scene and pushing the sound hardware to its limits.

CHARACTERS

Wink is the main character of the game. A short anthropomorphic eyeball creature with a desire to help everyone and the power of shooting lasers from his eyes. Wink lives in the Outskirts and often explores the ruins, looking for collectibles from the ancient past, where smartphones, CDs, and VR devices were prized possessions. While he was exploring, he stumbled upon a robot who had been beaten up and scavenged for parts.

Robot

The broken robot. Left in a completely vulnerable state, the robot needs help getting put back together.

Puppers

Puppers is Wink’s roommate who lives in the dog house. Wink will run into Puppers in random places throughout the world. Yes, you can pet the dog!

Ants

Ants are everywhere, filling every ecological niche you could imagine. There are blue jumping ants, purple curious ants that follow you, yellow high jump ants, grey metal ants, translucent ghost ants. Ants, ants, everywhere

Wildcat is a giant cat that lives in a cage near Wink’s house. His kind are nocturnal so he only goes out at night and Wink can go talk to him any time.
