This is the most corporate feeling nothingburger game I've ever made! Enjoy at own risk, no lifeguard is present.

How to Play!

  1. You can only place cells directly next to other cells, unless it is turn 1. (duh)
  2. Every time a cell is placed, a turn has been completed and all tiles (cells and fruits) count down by one.
  3. If any tile reaches 0, it is destroyed. If a fruit is destroyed, you lose.
  4. Every three turns, a new fruit is spawned.
  5. The more fruit has been eaten, the more challenging it becomes as fruits spawn with less time before destruction.

In case anyone wants to know, here's the formula for fruit start time, where f = fruits eaten:

10 + round(8e^(-0.01f)-9)

You’re right, this is a bit if a nothingburger game, but it’s also a concept I’ve not seen before, which considering how basic the concept is, is an impressive achievement of creativity! A kind of ‘turn based snake-em-up by the numbers’ thing that could be expanded upon quite easily.

Maybe make it so missing a number gives a -10 score, or reduces the number of newly placed tiles, instead of ending the game outright, just to keep the fun going a little longer. You could also add in pickups that increase the numbers on placed tiles, or maybe expand the board over time as your score increases. Even put a ‘rival’ on the board if you’re feeling bold. Lots of stuff you could do with it.

While it may be a ‘corporate feeling nothingburger’, well… so is Tetris, if you think about it.

Fun & interesting game, really cool. Highscore:30

Very interesting strategy game, it's unlike any I've played before which is really cool!

The instructions to play aren't fantastic but once you start playing it makes sense very quickly, and I'm not entirely sure how I'd word the instructions to be any more clear, think it's just a play and learn thing
