Development Info


Order Automatics is a game inspired by my love of Super Auto Pets, with the twist that your characters are on a grid. The grid stuff is based on some ideas I've had bumping around in my head ever since I played the game Loot Rascals a few years ago, which has a grid-like position-based buffing system.

I hope to keep developing this game, so any feedback is greatly appreciated!

Some things I have in mind to add:

  • More allies, items, and indulgences and a more involved metagame for unlocking these things
  • An ally leveling system (probably something similar to DOTA Underlords where your ally automatically levels when you own 3 of the same)
  • General graphical upgrades, bugfixes, and quality of life improvements

The game is pretty nice, there are several strategies that seem to work, which is nice, although it seems to me that you'll always end up relying far too much in the unit in square 5 no matter what. Would be nice to have interactions with other squares to allow for a bigger variety of strategies. There's also a big part of chance, but that's part of the game so I won't complain about it.

One big issue however. Whenever you start the ritual, it's 100% up to chance what units you have, and you can even get pretty awfull teams (3 pylons for instance), you can abandon ritual, and restart the game anyways not to be punished by randomness, but it's pretty annoying to be forced to press two different buttons and listen to the music restart the loop every soingle time, so you could at the very least have a "restart ritual" button in the first screen to make this less tedious.

I like the idea, however, maybe a short tutorial is in order so people can get how the attacking mechanic works.Maybe an option as well where in one there is permadeath and in the other a sort of continue.
