cant pick up lighter so cant finish game
Quite successful at being creepy. The game has got to be one of the earliest point and click games that actually follows the genre quite well. The opening sequence gave off the scary feeling with that Nightmare on Elm Street echo scream. There was lots of rooms to go through and see what was in them as well as many things to click. The game had so many options and at first what seemed like an unlimited area, it showed off a little bit of a replay appeal to me. The idea is quite good and the whole game has it's own little aura with the enter name and birthday then enter the mansion. This game actually reminded me a little bit of Ghost Hotel, especially the beginning.
While I'm sure there's nothing I could point out that you haven't improved in the 2006 remake, so much of the clickable stuff was useless and had no meaning at any point in the game making me wonder whether half the stuff was going to ever have a use. I couldn't get past the rope part because it actually confused me quite a bit, the quality of animation is very sketchy and choppy at many parts, as well as the game needs a lot more dialogue to make it authentic, it needs a little bit more of it's own plot since it's mostly just a Nightmare on Elm Street copy.
This was a very successful and entertaining Nightmare on Elm Street game and very good at being an early Click and Point adventure game but there were many problems like semi-confusing instructions, choppy animation and not enough originality to become it's own. Very nice work you have done here though!
