Yes, I remember the days of stupid blue screeners. -_-; Ahh well, it was alright. Hara-kiri with the keyboard.. I'm sure all of us with dial-up (I'm not using dial-up anymore :P) had thought of that once in a while.

Some help
The most likly things wrong with your computer are bad sectors on the hard drive overheating problems.
Firstly run the machine without it's case on so air can get at the motherboard. If that stops it, buy a new heat sink fan or even an extra case fan.
If not that, try a FULL disk scan. After that try defagmenting the drive to (this normally moves data of crappy bits of disk. However, both of these things take HOURS so try the case thing first!
don't worry it's all good now, finally running windows 2000 instead of ole 98
