DIRECTORS COMMENTARY

This is the part where Jim winds up on Monster Island! It’s one of my favourite scenes in the movie it’s also one of the longest scenes at 13 minutes long! The part where the cyclops is stabbed in the eye and shoots blood everywhere is one of my favourite parts of this scene though I think I should have included a blood trail. I also really enjoy how the giant spider turned out and Larry The Unicorn is one of my favourite characters I think I got the inspiration for Larry from this one caterpillar that was running along the ground in the woods that had a spike on one end of it and I started poking it with a stick. I thought I should do a Mortal Kombat type scene where Larry fought another character and I think that turned out pretty well but figuring out how to animate the fight scene was actually pretty tricky & it took me a few days. I actually had plans for a video game based on the movie where you could actually play the arcade machine and there would have been a variety of different characters that you could play as but I don’t think that I will be able to make the game!
