Hi UkoNano.
I played your game, but just as a single player. I know it's only half of your intended players, but I feel like there are a couple things I can still address to try to help you get to a better point of playability. Obviously, It does feel like a rocket league clone mixed with a skate park. And That's ok, but my biggest comments at this point are as follows:
1) The Green jump pads could use a little more distinction to mark them as that.
2) You can get stuck easily with no way to get out, especially taking the mini half-pipes too slowly. These need to be spaced far enough apart that I can't get stuck between them. And maybe made bigger.
3) The overall speed of the vehicles is really slow, and with no speed boosters, it seems like it would take a while. Specifically is the acceleration isn't quite fast enough, and the brakes are to weak/slow to respond when i do get going.
4) You've got the ball on a teleporter instead of spawning a new one, so the momentum and direction stays in, which isn't necessarily an issue, it's just takes forever to hunt it down.
5) Instructions on what the controls for each player are?
6) With a faster speed, I think it'll change how you think about the size of your ramps and obstacles. I think they can be scaled up substantially.
7) Pause button (for each player).
I'm going to break a personal rule here, and suggest you maybe head in a different direction with this game. It's been at least 5 years since I've dared to suggest someone change their game, because I don't want to stifle a game developers creativity or upset them. And I don't want to do either to you.
Here's the thing, I feel a really unique game hiding in what you've provided with us here. I don't know exactly what it is, but it's right there under the surface, and very close! While I don't necessarily see this panning out as a local-multiplayer rocket league soccer clone, I think it could be really really cool.
- Giant pinball Machine Survival?
- Truck based platformer where you have to use ramps and teleporters to make it to the next platform?
- Skate Park?
I don't know, but playing the game, gives me an itch in the back of my head that you're sitting on an amazing idea here. I leaning towards the jump pads, teleporters, and ramps features to being the key to your game.
As far as keeping it as soccer-based, I'd recommend making the speed tweaks (acceleration at 3x faster, and brakes/reverse at least 5x stronger), I like the drifting, but I'd like to control when I drift just a hair more. I feel like once you adjust the speeds, a lot of the other changes will just naturally happen.
I'm curious to see where you go with this diamond in the rough!
