Countdown Royale is my take on the battle royale genre. It is a singleplayer battle royale game with a few twists if you manage to kill all the other contestants. This game was made in 48 hours for the GM48 jam.

Features

  • 3 levels
  • 5 weapons
  • health regeneration

Controls

  • WASD or arrow keys: move
  • Left click: shoot (when weapon is equipped)
  • Enter: start game
  • F4: toggle fullscreen (windows only)

This game is good, its just really difficult, best shooter game

thanks for playing :)

This was pretty fun, and I love the premise. My main issue, though, is that there's no melee combat. When you move as slow as you do, it would be nice to be able to sock enemies on your way to a weapon, you know? Especially since you have no real idea where one might be.

adriendittrick responds:

You get a melee weapon in level 3 :)

I thought I'd played all your games. Can't believe I missed this one, especially since it was a blast, yuk yuk yuk!

If only our gun happy GOP members used this method to decide who gets to hold positions of power within the party, we'd have far less idiots scrambling things in the states right now, or, at the very least, less conspiracy theories involving cannibal run pizza parlors and space lasers. Come to think of it, I'm surprised they don't use this method already.

What's more, trigger happy and PTSD inflicted as they may be, NRA Hunger Games champions would still make more stable monarchs than the traditional method of inbreeding them. How's that for fence sitting?

adriendittrick responds:

it's the future of politics!

Shoot button doesn't really work well.

adriendittrick responds:

Have you collected a gun first?

I can see this game being a lot better - even 5-star territory - but there's a few things holding it back. First, the music is really good, but it can be repetitive. I think a few more tracks (even one for each level) would make it a whole lot better. Second, the ability to hold more than one weapon at a time or switch between every weapon currently unlocked would alleviate a lot of frustration of accidentally picking up the wrong weapon. Thirdly, I want to see more! This is a brilliant base for what could be an incredible game!

adriendittrick responds:

Thanks for your thoughtful review :)
