Make your very own GLSL shaders quickly and easily in the browser. This app is a great tool whether you're a beginner or a pro. If you're unsure what to do, just load up one of the shader examples in the drop-down list, and tweak the values and algorithms as much as you'd like.

Constants description

vec2 uv pixel coordinates

float time current time

vec4 fragColor output color

Text editor shortcuts

Ctrl + Spacebar compile

Ctrl + Q toggle playback

Ctrl + Z/Y undo/redo

Ctrl + S/O save/open

Ctrl + F/G find/next

^ Cmd and Ctrl can be used interchangeably on macOS

Tips and tricks

  • To save a screenshot of your shader art, right-click the canvas and select "Save picture as". Go fullscreen first for higher resolution.
  • Utilize the built-in functions. Click here to see a full list of the ones available.
  • Remember to take note of the line number(s) referenced in the debug log section to easily trace and fix your coding mistakes.
  • The uv and time variables are built-in constants and cannot be renamed, but the fragColor variable can be any arbitrary name.
  • Pause the render while working on your code to save on system resources.
