I decided to delete my old review, leaving a part of it that relates to the thing that still has not been addressed or fixed, to make it leave you a fresh notification. But there is much more important thing that needs to be addressed.
It's about the lag. You've got a massive MEMORY LEAK in your game that is causing the lag. How do I know that? After passing several caves the plugin container of my Firefox was already storing some 1-1,5 GB of data! After few minutes of struggle to close the browser not only the Firefox stopped responding, but your game even made my computer barely working. You HAVE to fix this because otherwise your game is simply dangerous to computers and can DAMAGE them! If you can't seek for help from the community and if you still will not be able to do it - remove the game.
Old part of the thing that has not been fixed: The game looks interesting and has its mood, but unfortunately has some flaws. And probably all of them are related to controls that are not as responsive as they should be. The jumping mechanics is problematic. And very often when you run down a \ type slope the character fails to jump. The same happens when you press up and right/left at the same time: the character will move left/right but will not jump.
I noticed that it has been pointed out by several users, but you did nothing about it.
I guess that means the menu option to switch to text UI didn't help much. I don't know if that's what you were using but you're still right either way. So I'll go through the game again and see what I can do. And I'll include a memory leak warning at the start as well.
I'm not going to fix the jumping mechanic, because as far as I can tell it's not broken. I've played through the game several times without issues, and I've seen other people play it without problems as well. I guess it's my fault for making these jumps a little pixel perfect and adding that level of difficulty, but they're all very doable. And the slope mechanics are just a consequence of the astronaut's behavior when he interacts with them. When I discovered these interactions, I decided to make them a part of the game because I thought they were interesting, and that they added a bit of spice to the game. You have to jump off the downward slope before you start moving right or left. I'm sorry if it frustrates you, it just take a little bit of practice.
I'll be honest, I kinda gave up on this game a while ago. I wasn't sure what to do with it because it looked like a lot of people liked it, and a lot of people didn't. Like I said, though, I'll take another look at it.
i dont know what to say, i was unable to do the cave part but still i like it, you should add more background stuff and some enimies to make it less bland
For a game about exploration, the environments are really bland, also the slope jumping mechanic feels like more of a hindrance than something that's fun to play around with. The pixel art is good but everything just feels the same.
many would say boring
it is
but i love walking
