Project: Unborn - Episode 2

Project: Unborn is a reboot of my older game called White Wolf and it will consist of several episodes. The game is, for the most part, point and click adventure. But each episode will contain few fights in a JRPG style. This is, however, not a JRPG game. There is no leveling system or new equipment. You can find a few items that can help you in the fight, but each battle is more like a mini-puzzle. That means that each fight is essentially a boss fight. And each episode will contain only 3-4 fights. Hp and Be (bio-energy) will not be restored between fights, so it is desirable to win each fight with as little waste of resources as possible. As for the length of the episode, each episode should be 5-15 minutes long if you know what you are doing and where you need to go.

Use mouse to control the character. In the battle click on the WOLF for Boost / Healing commands or click on an OPPONENT for battle commands.

Pretty nice RPG, it's been a while since I last played White Wolf. I've played the original and purchased the platformer one, and I think this reboot is a bit of a letdown compared to the old one, because there's less things to do than in the other games.

I think it would have been great to combine the platforming and the rpg aspects of the older games, since it would have given a purpose to navigating into the environment (which for now is a bit empty) while keeping the items and the weapon system which was a great way to let the player adapt his playstyle into the game.

Story-wise, I think it's a bit dissapointing that this game is so short, since what it only does is asking questions your other games have already established and explored. If you want to keep this approach, I think you shouldgive a proper answer and establish a story from start to end (not necessarily the entier game, but exploring a theme and resolving it throughout the game, instead on leaving the player with questions that aren't answered or even explored).

But hey, I know starting a project like this is long and complex, so I kinda understand why your game is so short. Keep up the good work, I'm excited to see what's next ;)

MMMgames responds:

Thank you for the feedback. And thank you for having an interest in the White Wolf series. The problem with the original game was that it was made in an older engine. So I had to do a reboot for players that uses Windows 10. And while I was doing that I wanted to expand the player base for a Web / Android system too. And the only way I could do that is to make short episodes (because of the Web version). I hoped I would create small but darker experiences.

As for the story, since I rebooted the series, the first two episodes are retelling the original game. The next episode will be a brand new story (what Code: Creation - White Wolf 3 should have been).

I don't have many experiences in Web / Android game development and I still don't know how to create bigger platforming worlds for that systems without lagging. But I will try to improve my skills as much as I can.

Again, thank you for the feedback and hopefully, next episode will be batter :)
