There's this weird thing that happens when I'm at a restaurant with someone and I pull out the silverware I brought, and they pull out their bamboo knife and fork. I'm hoping this animation reflects that feeling.

Why would you bring your own silverware to a restaurant, and how is bamboo any more environmentally friendly? Silverware is already reusable

Sanbles responds:

Good questions! Let's say you have fifty people in a town with one restaurant with a capacity of ten people. These fifty town people all have their own fork, but the restaurant must have at least ten forks to supply their customers. That means that in a town where only fifty forks are required, there are instead sixty. Multiply this situation times a million and some, and you'll see where the redundancies/waste lies. Not to mention that some restaurants find it more cost-effective to give disposable plastic forks instead of reusable silverware. About your other question: imagine a solid block of silver and another one of bamboo. We want to turn both of those blocks into a fork. Which one do you think will be easier to do? Silver will take more time and energy which as of now is more than likely being generated by fossil fuels. There's also a finite amount of silver in the world and bamboo can break down and regrow as part of the carbon cycle. I hope this answered your questions :) I love questions like yours.

This was fantastic! Great writing and an animation style that goes perfectly with it.
