That's fair. It's more of a puzzle game than an action game. I'm re-skinning it to be a little faster for my next app/game Gorpee Kong. Coming very soon.
Don't know why, but the game runs laggy here on my i5 (Opera on Linux)

This game overall is good the code is good the idea is good but the gameplay lacks and that has to do with the games introduction you're presented with way to many options cut it down change the ui to guide the player (and try doing that without text) then make the introduction level short just plain jumping and maybe an enemy or so than build that up. another thing that this game lacks is feedback the feedback you get when you get hit or collect a purple coin you really have to note up that "wow collecting that purple coin must be important" or "dam killing that enemy felt good"
so hope you will learn from this game and continue to make great games

Nice work on the game :D it was quite nice!
I would set the pacing of the game a little faster, set the default move to WASD and set different noise effects for some coins (like the Purple coin and gold). The power ups can also show what the power ups will be by having some effects to them rather than a blinking Red letter.
Other than that, it's quite good! Just needs some small bits of polish to make this more effective :D
I get that. I think I can add a bit more to v2.0 later this year. However, this is meant to be a Puzzle game, so i didn't want the pacing to be too fast. This is also a proto-version of my next big platformer Anarchy Island, which will be much faster and more in line with something like Contra, Metal Slug, or Bubsy.

Slow as in playing slow, or just not a 'fast game'? I wanted it to be more of a puzzler than an action game, so it's not as 'fast paced'.
