any one having trouble wit
h ng player as well?

Ok, after playing on and off for a while, i finally beat it.
My closing thoughts were "wait what? why is the second area not nearly as hard as the first?"
as generally the attack patterns were way easier to block, especially with the boss, the first boss seems as though you need at least one speed upgrade to properly block, and was the sole reason i didn't beat the game in the first sitting, as once i did beat hime, the whole second area took only 5 minutes.

the music is rather nice, it catchy whilst not being distractive.

The goblin that hits twice is kinda bullshit, it has way too much health in comparison to other area 1 monsters, and its second strike needs to be blocked once his knife is already past its peak, instead of as it gets there like every other monster in the entire game.
id say to either change one of those, or swap him (or at least his attack pattern/stats) with one of the monsters of the gutter, maybe the dude with the fish head, as he's really easy.

A way to practise attack patterns from the main menu would be neat, but i can see why you wouldn't want to add this.

overall a great game with cute characters and fun combat, and id love to see more.
