Short but sweet :)
DRONN is my first project in Bitsy; a short story about a lone, dutyful repair drone.
You are DRONN Unit 26, the last remaining functioning repair drone in the S.S. PIONEER. You have awakened after having being offline for 50 years. As the AI Core explains, a sudden jolt of electricity turned the main emergency systems back on... And now there are biological signals coming from within the ship.
It's up to you to go and explore the place, detect what these signals are, and find out what happened to the crew of the S.S. PIONEER. Interact with humans, learn about their own stories of the past fifty years, complain about your limited technology, and, since you're at it, try to solve a little issue that's been bothering the crew for a while now.
Short but sweet :)
awesome game!
Might even reply later vause I havent gone to every room, yet. EDIT: Ok, I see now, the west and east corridors are blocked, so I already saw it all.
I like the idea of cutting the dialogues into segments. This way, a player has more freedom in deciding whether he wants to leave early or read it all, WITHOUT giving the player the feeling he misses something, for every "end" of your dialogues can indeed be considered a legitimate end of the respective chat (Maybe this feeling results entirely on the inability of the drone to reply. It probably wouldn´t work in "The Witcher" xD).
If you now decide to build some labrinths in between, add some riddles, let the drone collect some materials/keycards to open doors etc., you can make a good long play version out of this! I hope you continue the story!
Edit:
Regarding to your reaction: Do not waste your energy on going for better graphics. They are fine as they are. Many companies nowadays forgot that a game IS in fact a very simplified environment, that players are NOT led by graphics but by the idea of a world of its own which is generated IN THE PLAYERS HEADS! You have succeeded in generating such a world already! (The only graphics that might need adaption are the texts, the font type does not really fit the pixel graphics because the fonts pixels are smaller than the games pixels. However, the text is good readable, so for now I would leave the font as it is.)
Thank you! The original idea was far too ambitious for me (a Metroidvania), but I am considering that a take of the game on RPG Maker would be just perfect. It would keep the same top-down style but with improved graphics, music, and actual interactivity with puzzles and such.
But that will be a project for the future. Right now I'm working on another project.
Es un poco lento el desarrollo del juego, además la velocidad del dron tambien al conectarse a algo demora.
Nice! A very engaging, story-driven game.
