This looks interesting
Controls:
Movement: WASD or left joystick
Dash attack: left click or west face button on gamepad
Bash attack: right click or east face button
Jump: space bar or south face button
I recommend using a game pad.
Full disclosure, this is what happened after about a month of design work from start to finish, give or take a couple weeks. I made this about 5 or 6 months ago. There is no real end state. The boss isn't really fully designed, and the enemies are broken in some respects. I am fully aware this is not good. But, I did the work, so I figured I'd let people mess with it if they really wanted to.
The actual game will eventually come out, I've started a big overhaul since I finished this. Basically, you can expect the actual game to play nothing like this does, but I hope to make it look very similar

rosevelda? thornbolt?
Smooth animation and an appealing artstyle make this quite a charming game to look at,though when you're hit the colors become too saturated and the character model becomes slightly too big which I personally dislike and the controls on the other hand can be approved quite a bit
The jump would work better if it were changed to "W" rather than being the spacebar which makes it feel too clunky.
Other than that this game has quite a lot of potential if you keep working on it and refining some problems I can see this becoming quite popular.
Yeah, the hurt animation is an artifact from a previous iteration, and I just never got to making an updated version, lmfao. I appreciate the feedback dude - and just so ya know, the controls are being improved on as we speak. I hope I can live up to those expectations, cause it's the same for me! I kinda see this build as a first step, and as far as first steps go, I guess I could do much worse than the reception I got for this. It's been thoroughly humbling!
I don't think you should put the health mechanic in the tech demo ( or at least just put an healthbar in there ), I would have gladly continued to play if I didn't die all of a sudden. Otherwise even if the jumps and everything is still a bit clunky, I can see some great platforming potential in this
Yeah, I was shakey on it but some part of me that wanted some kind of loss state won out, and maybe it shouldn't have. I'm glad everyone's seeing potential for what I'm trying to do here. I'm workin' on it!
The game definitely has potential. The character tends to get briefly stuck when jumping under a ledge. Personally, I prefer arrow keys for movement and jumping and Z,X, or C for attack.
Yeah, this build is laden with bugs. Thanks for giving me your fair shake, man! And not to worry - the newer builds actually have control remapping, and tighter control schemes in general!
