You're a baby and your friend is inccomplete. Traverse the fleshy floors to make it longer and satisfied.
Use arrow keys to move and Z to use your friend and skip through dialogue boxes.
I am aware now that I should have specified earlier that the game was made in two days at a game jam, so it's not the most polished thing ever ^^' I may make a better version some other time.

Well, it was supposed to give this ugly/uncomfortable overall feeling. And about the effort, the game was made in just two days for a game jam a few weeks ago ^.^'
I like it. I mean it's not terrible just needs some improvement. wish you could move diagonally. and permadeath is kinda mean. almost had all the things and died at a turret that had one of the crystals. and pls a mute function. a 5 sec loop gets annoying fast.
and yeah. pls implement a checkpoint system of some kind. I got to the 2nd level, the yellow place and died. no intentions of going through all the first level again.

I may improve it some day or maybe even remake it into a bigger and more well-thought game. There are only these two levels with just a little bit of backtracking, so it doesn't really get harder than the yellow place. :P
It's not the right kind of game for a permadeath mechanism, seeing that there is no random generation and no kind of content unlocked by death, and the gameplay is tedious when there is nothing new to explore. Besides that, it's a fine creepy exploration game.
Not really enjoyable. Of all the "retro" design choices, music emulating a PC speaker isn't the best choice. Controls feel slippery.
